Sharry began as Ministry Coordinator at Oak Hills Church in December,
2000. Sharry has been a member at Oak Hills Church since moving to
Oregon in 1979. Sharry has a deep love for her Lord, desire to
serve, and truly enjoys people of all ages. When the church began
seeking out individuals to fill the newly created position, she
sensed a deep calling and applied. Sharry has found tremendous joy
and fulfillment in serving in this capacity and often describes her
position as "the mom of the church".
Having grown up in a Christian home in Minnesota, Sharry has come to
truly love the Northwest. Moving here as a new bride with her
wonderfully calm and gentle husband, Brian, the couple quickly
adopted Oak Hills Church as their new church home. Sharry has always
been involved in many volunteer opportunities within the church and
community while being a stay at home mom to their four children.
Raising three sons, Jason, Joey & Jeff and daughter Jessica has been
an incredible blessing and joy! Now that they are grown and beginning
families of their own, Sharry absolutely loves teaching the preschool
classes here at Oak Hills Church. With two part-time
jobs at the same location, there are few times you won't find Sharry
here anxious to meet or visit with each person who calls or stops by.
Outside church and family Sharry enjoys walking, occasional
scrap-booking (when time permits), reading, connecting with friends
and volunteering here and there. Once in a great while she loves to
hit the golf course or go camping with the family. Regular trips
back to the Midwest to visit family provide great times as well.
Oregon, with all its beauty and varied terrain has truly become her
desired home. Oak Hills Church, with all its cherished relationships
and ministry opportunities has become her passion. Her family has
been her constant source of love, joy and encouragement, and her God
her hope and strength for all times.
Sharry's favorite Bible verse:
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings
like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
